Companies are increasingly engaging employees with video for corporate communications and trainings. They’re fast-tracking their sophisticated enterprise video strategies and putting the power of content creation into the hands of their employees.
It’s easy to picture a traditional classroom — a lecturing professor with rows of students watching, listening and taking notes.
But that age-old model is turning a cartwheel in some of the best classrooms in academia, and chances are someone in your department is already flipping their classroom.
The way the University of Florida addressed lecture capture a decade ago wasn’t uncommon. Each college, department and faculty member had their own system of manually recording and publishing online lectures. Viewing required separate plug-ins for each class. That meant students usually had to review lectures in computer labs instead of their dorm rooms.
There is great demand for lecture capture in Norway. Just ask any student and he or she will confirm that. The only problem is many of the smaller colleges and universities can’t afford the technology to make that happen.
But when UNINETT, the network and internet services provider for all Norwegian colleges, universities and research institutions, offered a cost-effective solution, the use of academic video across the country exploded.
