Business Development Executive

Position Location

Madison, WI

 

Primary Purpose

Leverage your demonstrated track record of selling both SaaS and on-premises enterprise solutions to healthcare, education and corporate enterprise sectors to cultivate and sustain strong relationships within our industry.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Initiate and develop product and positioning plans around new market opportunities
  • Size market and develop profitable business plan and timelines for the target markets/products
  • Generate sales leads, follow up on internally generated existing leads and support existing customers
  • Provide in-depth demonstrations of the Mediasite product (frequent)
  • Generate a business plan, provide forecasting data and continue manage to plan as product and market dynamics change
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for forecasting and contact management relative to verticals and solutions managed
  • Manage complex, enterprise solution sales opportunities involving 6-12+ month sales cycles
  • Develop deep understanding of market trends & opportunities, and build frameworks to prioritize most promising opportunities
  • Research and obtain market intelligence with respect to customer needs in a particular application environment as well as competitive offerings and product opportunities
  • Foster closer alignment with key corporate functions such as product development and product marketing
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and VP marketing to ensure efficient and effective marketing, advertising and promotional planning
  • Act as key evangelist and visionary for Sonic Foundry, articulating and publicizing corporate strategy and value proposition inside and outside of Sonic Foundry.
  • Identify, recruit and develop new channel and technology partnerships in the target market(s)

 

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • Directly related experience in several industries with proven direct sales record and a personal network of senior industry executives
  • Strong experience in initiation, development and execution of business strategies and key initiatives
  • Program management experience running large-scale projects in complex, cross-functional environment
  • Superior analytical rigor paired with ability to think ‘outside the box’
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence senior management
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to take charge and “get things done” in unstructured, highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent understanding of enterprise software space, audio visual industry, or both.
  • Previous experience with SaaS services conceptualization, commercialization and growth.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with Salesforce.com

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional license preferred.
