Each year, Centennial College hosts a mock disaster training day for students, medical staff and first responders in Toronto, Canada. Hundreds of volunteers, including Centennial students, role play to simulate emergency situations. This year it was a subway crash and a mass shooting, and one of the college’s campuses served as a mock hospital.
The annual event lets medical professionals work and problem solve together and better prepares them for real life disaster situations. Plus, students get hands on experience that is impossible to have in the classroom.
