Live Webinar – How to Host a Local Site for the Sloan Consortium’s Online Learning Symposium

MADISON, Wis. - May 14, 2009 - As travel and budget restrictions continue to be a reality for many colleges and universities, it is more difficult to secure funding to attend top conferences. To reach beyond these restrictions and afford everyone a chance to participate, The Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C) has created a virtual symposium powered by Mediasite by Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management.

WHEN: Thursday, May 14, 2009, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. Central
WHERE: To register for this complimentary webinar, visit www.sonicfoundry.com/sloanc

Join us for a live webinar in which Sloan-C's R.T. Brown will discuss how you can benefit from being a local leader for online education through the Localness Initiative. By hosting a virtual conference site for the International Emerging Technology Applications for Online Learning Symposium, your constituents get virtual access to the complete conference program - both live and on-demand. This blended program is an opportunity to incorporate faculty professional development and become a local leader for online education.

Presenter:
R.T. Brown started his career with online technologies before there was something called THE WEB, (early nineties). For many years he worked in the yellow pages industry creating online directory products, serving as a bridge between marketing/content groups and system developers. Somehow, even with his BA in English from Fordham University, he has most often found himself in technical positions. He came to Sloan-C after having worked for a small urban public charter school with their virtual high school endeavors and teaching English and Basic Computer Programming. At Sloan-C he's found the perfect arena to combine both educational interests with technology as program manager.

Moderator:
Erica St. Angel, vice president of Sonic Foundry
