Pro AV Spotlight Shines on Acentech for Mediasite Integration

Award honoring outstanding audio/visual design at Temple University’s Fox School of Business presented at InfoComm

MADISON, Wis. (InfoComm Booth #5071) - June 19, 2009 - Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced that AV partner Acentech Inc. accepted the Pro AV Spotlight Award for Best Education AV Project for integrating Mediasite into Alter Hall at Temple University's Fox School of Business. The award was presented at InfoComm 2009 at the Orlando Convention Center.

Alter Hall, the seven story, 217,000-square-foot building designed by world-renowned architect Michael Graves, is one of the most sophisticated business schools in the nation. The building was designed with lecture capture central to its vision, featuring state-of-the-art audio visual systems, including more than 30 Mediasite-equipped classrooms. All classes and online presentations are streamed live to students and audiences across the globe.

"Alter Hall exemplifies cutting edge smart technology for higher education, giving students access to advanced educational technology and new learning tools. Acentech is proud to have been a part of the integrated design team," said Larry Philbrick, supervisory consultant at Acentech. "We are honored to be recognized with the Pro AV Spotlight award alongside the Fox School of Business, as well as Sonic Foundry, the leaders in lecture capture."

"This project is the culmination of our initiative to build a cutting edge facility and launch a new era of learning on campus," said John DeAngelo, Assistant Dean of Instructional Technology at Fox School of Business. "Partnering with Acentech and Sonic Foundry allowed us to create a state-of-the-art technology environment that uses the latest teaching and learning tools to help the Fox School of Business attract exceptional students, expand key research centers and enhance relationships with alumni and partners across the globe."

The Spotlight Awards recognize the 15 best professional audio/video installations designed for corporate, educational and other non-residential applications.

"The second year of the Spotlight Awards surpassed the first," said Brad Grimes, Editor of PRO AV and PRO AV Online. "As the economy struggles, we hear that the education market is still ripe for great AV systems. This year's Spotlight Awards reflect the scope of novel developments in the rich media enterprise."

"The PRO AV Spotlight Awards do precisely what its name implies - shine light on technological innovation and impeccable audio/visual design," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry. "While Alter Hall is a success story for Acentech and Sonic Foundry, it will be most rewarding to the students and faculty who will thrive there for years to come."
