(Part of an ongoing series featuring Enterprise Video Award finalists)
Companies are becoming more interested in engaging employees with video for corporate communications and trainings. Case in point: Dell.
Dell’s sophisticated enterprise video strategy is putting the power of content creation into the hands of its employees. And it all started with long-time employee Lawrence Grafton. Lawrence pitched Michael Dell himself on a video initiative that would unify corporate messaging to more than 100,000 employees and ensure that everyone, no matter where they are in the world, is speaking the same language.
His idea, DellTV, powered by Mediasite, has seen massive growth in the organization.
In just three months, employees have recorded and viewed more content than they have in the previous 18 months combined.
"When the program started it was just me with a camera, recording everything to give people the idea of how the system works,” Grafton said. “Over time, with My Mediasite, people were able to use the system individually. As time grew, through a real grassroots effort, we’ve been able to achieve this real hockey stick growth.”
