The most trusted video managementplatform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting
Sonic Foundry recognizes Arizona State University College of Teacher Education and Leadership for harnessing the power of web communications to improve communication, learning and outreach.
Its project, which grew out of a $10 million United States Department of Education grant, includes Professional Development Schools and Teacher Education Network of Excellence Through Technology. In an effort to ensure that all classrooms are equipped with well-trained teachers in lower income and rural school districts, the program uses Mediasite to webcast professional development and graduate level courses in math, science and reading to elementary and high school teachers.
"What we're presently doing is using the Mediasite's live broadcast mode which permits anyone that has the url to view the classes, the meetings or the presentations in real time," said George Powers, Media Specialist. "The obvious benefit is the availability of the research and the expertise that's at the disposal at Arizona State University that may not be available to folks in (other) areas. They can utilize resources that are here in Phoenix in their sites without having to get in the car and drive the 8.5 hours it takes to come to Phoenix."
