Ashland University Instructional Technology Support Group

On October 6, 2008, Ashland University in Ohio became the first and only university to stream a current United States president using Mediasite. 

The Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University and the Cincinnati Chapter of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies contacted Ashland University Technical Support Group to broadcast via Mediasite a variety of speakers for an event called "The Presidency and the Courts." Speakers included professors, lawyers, judges and George W. Bush, the 43rd president. 

During the presentation, George Bush said: "I understand there are members of the Federalist Society who are viewing this program from afar, over the Internet. So we welcome you via the wonders of modern technology."

"And that's what Mediasite is - a wonder of modern technology," said Tim Lombardo, content developer at Ashland University.
