Chapman University Media Services & Academic Technology

Chapman University Media Services & Academic Technology created Campus-On-Demand to consolidate all of its existing media into one place and is promoting it as a source for university content.

Prior to creating Campus-On-Demand, the university had links all over its website with different media types that required various plug-ins. Now, with Mediasite and Campus-On-Demand, it has one access point for live events and archived presentations. Mediasite provided the university the ability to webcast many live events to its students across its 23 campuses. 

The university was also able to provide students and faculty with a publishing platform that allows them to connect to its global programs in Singapore and the Czech Republic and achieve a broader outreach to the Chapman community which includes parents, alumni, scholars and the media. Most of all, with the archive capability, events can exist beyond a specific date, time and place. The university has seen its average monthly usage double in each of its three years using Mediasite.

"We see consistent growth in the use of Mediasite, the acceptance of Mediasite and the way people are viewing and accessing it. It's been widely accepted and quickly accepted," said Kevin Silva, associate director of instructional technology.
