Cooke Real Estate School Expands it's Reach with Webcasts

Five years ago, after years of teaching to a group of students the old-fashioned way, Cooke Real Estate School in Florida faced a major challenge – the local real estate market had dried up.

Using videoconferencing to teach to 120 locations across Florida helped, but they quickly discovered the limitations of the technology, both geographically and academically.

Frank Cooke knew Mediasite was used successfully in universities and large businesses, and asked himself if it could also boost his bottom line by increasing his small school’s course offerings and product lines, and expand its geographic reach. It’s a question that would ultimately transform his business.

After transferring its curriculum to a distance learning course using Mediasite with minimal expense the school took the next steps – getting the Mediasite courses approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission and later, certified through the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO), which opened the door for accreditation by many state regulatory agencies.

“Thanks to the quality of Mediasite, Cooke has the only online streaming video course approved by ARELLO,” said Cooke. “After using it for five years, we’re approved to teach in eight states: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Wisconsin, North Dakota, West Virginia, and Montana. California and Kentucky are next."

Mediasite helped Cooke launch a nationwide real estate curriculum, now reaching more than 10,000 students.

“Mediasite is the perfect product for small business schools to expand their business by increasing their course offerings and increasing their product lines because of the easy transition from classroom to distance learning environment that Mediasite allows,” said Cooke.
