The most trusted video managementplatform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting
When Maya Tutughamiarso, a graduate student in organic chemistry at Goethe-University Frankfurt in Germany first thought about how to teach a chemistry class at an Indonesian high school, she hoped she could use videoconferencing. There was only one problem—internet connectivity in Indonesia is unstable and slow. Then she learned about Mediasite.
“I was amazed by the idea of creating an interactive online learning session with this system,” she said. “There was no additional work for me to do. I just had to stand in the lecture hall as normal and hold my lecture as if it was for a local class.”
Using Mediasite made the lecture interactive for the students, rather than them just listening to her speak. Students were able to see her present, see her slides and see the notes she took on her touch screen, and they could even ask questions.
Due to the low bandwidth in Indonesia, they couldn’t watch the lecture live, but having the on-demand Mediasite presentation made them feel like they were right in Maya’s classroom.
