Jenna Lombardo and Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center

Jenna Lombardo attends Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center in Chicago each day while living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. How does she do it? With Mediasite

She is a graduate student enrolled in the blended learning certificate for the Prosthetics program. This invovles six months of online coursework and 10 weeks of onsite clinical work. Her online courses consist of live and streamed levtures, video conferences, discussion boards and live chats with faculty and professors.

"At first, the idea of being an online student was a little bit scary. After all, I was only used to a traditional classroom setting. However, it didn't take long for me to realize the benefits of an online classroom. Thanks to Mediasite I can now watch my lectures anytime anywhere that I have an Internet connection," Jenna Lombardo said. "This allows me to coordinate my class schedule with my busy life schedule. Or, when I'm crunched for time, I can watch lectures during my lunch break at work. Typically students are not able to maintain their regular work schedules while enrolled in a traditional classroom setting. As an online student, that's no longer an issue. Mediasite gives me the flexibility to be a full time student as well as a full time employee."
