The most trusted video managementplatform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting
North Carolina State University uses Mediasite for its distance education program. Ease-of-use is one reason faculty are eager to use it to record and enhance their distance education courses. The fact that students feel like they are actually in the classroom is another.
"If I don't have Mediasite, I don't have a lot of students. I have those students who were not in class go to Mediasite. They can find out what happened that day and they can come to the next class session caught up," said Dr. Ron Campbell, who teaches law at the university. "I have had distance education students from as far away as California who have seen my course on the Internet."
Dr. Louise Dolan, a lecturer in foreign languages and literatures, uses Mediasite to teach students grammar lessons, and she's seen the average scores on chapter exams improve.
"Mediasite enabled me to produce 10 to 15 minute videos that I have dropped into my online courses. I can include pictures and exercises from the textbook. I can even write on the screen to enhance what I'm doing," she said. "I was afraid it would be hard to use, but within 10 minutes I was using the entire product very well."
