North Carolina State University is using Mediasite to work with Army depots that are supporting U.S. soldiers overseas. Colonels, generals and managers in U.S. depots from all 50 states and across the globe are working on an online course on improving systems through the Institute for Defense and Business.

“With Mediasite, we have the chance to influence the knowledge and learning throughout the world as we fight the war,” said Dr. Deborah Manzo from the university’s college of engineering.  

The online class allows people at the depots to come together to learn from university experts how to improve systems. The course consists of power points, .pdf files, web links and Mediasite presentations.

“The Mediasite piece is so powerful that after they view this and do their online instruction, they’re able to share this with the other soldiers that they’re working with at the depots and send them around the world so that they can be working on simultaneous type projects at depots that do the same thing,” Manzo said.  “The power and being able to reach military stations throughout the world is just incredible, and without this particular venue, without this media presentation where you can talk and present things, we would not be able to really service the war fighters that are fighting for our freedom and fighting for things that we believe in.”
