Northrop Grumman is a leading global security company that provides innovative systems, products and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide. It has a major role in the design and production of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet Block II, the U.S. Navy's frontline carrier-based strike fighter. It also has to make sure the military pilots, officers, maintainers and personnel from several foreign countries that fly the F/A-18 Hornet Jet know everything there is to know about it. The company uses Mediasite to disseminate that knowledge.
Northrop Grumman uses Mediasite to reach a global audience with a conference held in Quebec City Canada called The Hornet International Conference. Northrop Grumman recorded the most recent conference with Mediasite, and afterwards, a publish-to-go program was created and sent to each attendee so they can share all the briefings with other people who need the training.
"It is almost impossible to put a value on the cost savings to each country. It saves many thousands of dollars every time someone would watch it on the computer instead of attending in person," said Evan Guyer, senior video engineer at Northrop Grumman. "With the capability we now have with our rich media recording system we estimated a savings of more than 380 hours of post-production time, reducing the number of hours from about 400 for last year's conference to just about 20 hours for our most recent conference. The cost savings of using this type of technology saved us so much money with just the one event that we recorded."
