Richard S. Miltenberger, Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center

Richard Miltenberger lives in Spokane, Washington, but goes to school in Chicago, thanks to Mediasite. 

He is a student at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC), and he works as a resident orthotist at Thompsons Custom Orthotics and Prosthetics. 

"As a student at Northwestern I can stream lectures via Mediasite to any computer. That means I can watch lectures at home, at the coffee shop, or at the office. I like having the choice," Miltenberger said. 

The blended learning program at NUPOC combines six months of online learning with three months onsite, hands-on learning. The flexible learning schedule allows him to work fulltime while he's a fulltime student. 

"What's valuable to me is the time-saving aspect of the Mediasite presentations. Lectures may be slowed down, sped up or paused in order for the student to catch up on the material which is really useful to me," he said. "I can also skip to the power point slide that I am looking for and the video will automatically sync to the location."
