Sonic Foundry is currently in the middle of whirlwind US tour that I believe bodes well for both online learning and blended events (which in turn bode well for Mediasite and Sonic Foundry Event Services).
WCET 21st Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado October 21-23 (#wcet09) and the Campus Computing live webcast "Managing Online Education: The 2009 WCET-Campus Computing Project Survey of Online Education." While the report found online education programs faced several challenges, 48% of colleges responding said online education enrollments are rising, and 95% said online enrollment has increased over fall 2008.
15th Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning/ALN in Orlando October 28-30 (#sloanaln). As I write, we're in the middle of live streaming day two. Great conversations happening both on-site and online, with people both in Orlando and at home wishing they could be in two session tracks at once. We're in both the virtual and physical exhibit halls (booth #511). Say hi.
And next week:
EDUCAUSE Annual Conference "The Best Thinking in Higher Ed IT" in Denver November 3-6 (#educause09). We're live webcasting key sessions for the fifth year in a row so look for us in booth #443 and in the back of the big rooms. You'll know us by the black shirts and black boxes.
And may we also recommend a few sessions by Mediasite friends and family:
- Jim Jorstad, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse
Lost in Space: Finding Your Way Around Effective Learning Space Creation
November 4 | 10:30 | meeting room 603
Houston, We Have A Problem: Leading Through Failure
November 5 | 3:45 | meeting room 605
- Sean Brown, Sonic Foundry
The Past, Present and Future of Academic Webcasting
November 4 | 3:50 | Korbel Ballroom 3B
- Bill Havice and Pamela Havice, Clemson University
Building a Classroom Without Walls
November 5 |2:20 | meeting room 505/506
So all in all, a busy fall. And when it comes to blended learning and events, good news for all.
P.S. Did I mention it was a busy summer too?
