We uncovered immediately upon our purchase of Mediasite that having the right tools in place allowed faculty to be more effective and enhance student learning experiences, while at the same time very little was added to faculty preparation time.
Before Mediasite we had pretty dull presentations -- set up a video camera in the back of the room and you get bad video of the presenter and you don't capture any of the presenter's auxiliary materials. After Mediasite, we are able to present presentations to students, alumni, staff and faculty on-demand that are media rich. They provide a complete experience for a viewer who is looking at presentations after the fact. They see not only the video and audio of the speaker but they also get the auxiliary materials, which is really crucial for us.
