Bierwirth to Head New Sonic Foundry European Office

Sonic Foundry, Inc. (AMEX: SFO) has announced the opening of a European office to improve support to the Company's distributors and customers throughout Europe. The office will be headed by Johanna Bierwirth, Sonic Foundry's new Senior Director of International Business, and is centrally located in the Netherlands. Ms. Bierwirth's background includes more than two decades in retail and marketing management with extensive experience in business development and distribution.

According to Roy Elkins, Sonic Foundry's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, "Johanna was exactly the candidate we were looking for to strengthen and expand our international sales effort. Finding someone of her caliber was an absolute necessity to achieve our goal of continuous, rapid international growth."

All European sales, customer service, training, and marketing assistance will be coordinated from the new office, and interviewing is currently in progress for managers for each of those functions. Mr. Pepe Dijkstra has been hired to act as Office Manager.
