Before joining Sonic Foundry as director of Systems Engineering, Tom Irons was the manager for Smart Classroom and Emerging Technology at East Carolina University, responsible for over 100 classrooms. At ECU, he was among the principal architects of the Mediasite server support infrastructure which to this day remains one of the largest and most prolific classroom content capture infrastructures in the world. In his current role, Tom and his team are in touch with virtually every Mediasite installation around the globe. Tom holds a M.S. in Industrial Technology from ECU, the instruction portion for which he reportedly received primarily via Mediasite.
