Sonic Foundry Announces ACID PRO 3.0

Sonic Foundry[R] Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the leading developer and marketer of digital media and Internet software tools and services, today announced the highly-anticipated release of ACID[TM] PRO 3.0.

ACID PRO 3.0 is the latest version of Sonic Foundry's multi-award winning loop based music creation software that allows the user to create original, royalty-free music with a simple click, paint, and play interface. This revolutionary software is used to create songs, remix tracks, develop music beds, score videos, and develop music for Web sites and Flash animation.

This new version of ACID PRO 3.0 has added the following features:

• Beatmapper[TM] — This patent pending technology enables users to create custom remixes of their favorite songs by allowing them to synchronize existing songs with music loops.
• Video Scoring Track — Allows users to import video files and score original music to create the perfect music bed.
• Chopper[TM] — Lets users slice up music loops and rearrange them to create drum fills, drum rolls, stutters, and DJ-style effects.
• MIDI File Support — Permits users to import and record MIDI files into ACID projects. MIDI Time Code generation and synchronization with external devices is also supported.
• Sound Forge[R] XP Studio 5.0 — digital audio editor – Provides ACID users a program to create and record ACID loops and the ability to assign root notes, number of beats, and tempo.
• Twelve new DirectX Audio Plug-Ins from XFX[TM] 2 and XFX[TM] 3 — Includes Distortion, Flange, three Eqs, and Amplitude Modulation.
• New import formats — Supports Windows Media Audio (WMA), OGG Vorbis (OGG), Perfect Clarity Audio[TM] (PCA). Export formats include QuickTime (MOV), Windows Video (AVI), RealVideo 8 (RM), RealAudio 8 (RA), OGG Vorbis (OGG) and Perfect Clarity Audio (PCA).

ACID PRO 3.0 is currently available in beta format for download at www.sonicfoundry.com and is expected to ship in early May 2001.
