The most trusted video managementplatform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting
Sonic Foundry (AMEX: SFO), a leading developer and marketer of digital audio software for the Windows[R] platform, today introduced ACID Rock, a revolutionary new software package that enables any PC user to quickly and easily create professional-sounding rock music on their desktop.
ACID Rock provides users with access to a library of more than 600 prerecorded, royalty-free rock sound clips (loops), including guitar rhythms and solos, bass, keyboards, and drums. The versatile ACID Rock also incorporates a wide variety of rock music styles, including metal, classic, hard, grunge, and alternative.
To create their own unique rock music, users select the loops they want and use a simple click-and-drag approach to incorporate them into a track. Then the user simply clicks play to hear the song. With ACID Rock's built-in digital studio, users can mix and match loops to create multiple track recordings. To ensure premium quality sound, the powerful ACID Rock even synchronizes the tempo and key of the loops so they sound absolutely perfect. With ACID Rock, users can also easily add their own vocals to the mix by simply plugging a microphone into their PC soundcard.
"ACID Rock is an ideal product for any rock music fan that wants a fast and easy way to create great music on their own PC," said David Prohaska, Marketing Product Manager for Sonic Foundry. "It's as easy as picking a loop, painting it in, and playing it back. With its built-in library of more than 600 different rock loops, ACID Rock provides users with the ability to create a multitude of truly unique rock songs."
ACID Rock requires a Pentium 133 microprocessor (For real-time effects a Pentium II processor is recommended.) or Alpha AXP microprocessor, Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0 or later, a Windows-compatible sound card, VGA display, CD-ROM drive, 32MB of RAM, and 5MB of hard-disk space for program installation.
ACID Rock sells for a suggested retail price of $49.00, with an estimated street price of $39.00. It is now available for purchase by resellers through national computer products distributor Ingram Micro, and by end-users from a wide assortment of both computer and music retailers nationwide.
