The most trusted video managementplatform for academic, enterprise and event webcasting
Sonic Foundry (Nasdaq: SOFO), a leading developer and marketer of media authoring tools and digital audio software for Windows[R], announced today it is a sponsor of the Interactive Music Expo (IMX). To be held August 9th & 10th at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, this innovative new show is expected to be the nation's largest premier interactive music conference and exposition.
IMX is the only major industry event that will provide musicians as well as creators/producers of music the opportunity to see, touch, play, and understand the technologies responsible for transforming their profession. By recognizing the importance and ever increasing presence of technology in all styles and genre of music, IMX will effectively serve the needs of the entire musical spectrum, including Rock, Rap, Hip-Hop, R & B, Pop, Jazz, Metal, Classical, Country, Latin, and more.
In addition to providing visitors with access to product displays at more than 120 exhibitor booths, IMX will also feature keynote addresses by recognized music industry experts. Scheduled to attend are Hilary B. Rosen, President & CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Thomas Dolby, and noted producer Phil Ramone.
Along with its sponsorship of IMX, Sonic Foundry will also participate in the show as an exhibitor. Throughout the two-day event, the Company will provide demonstrations of its recently released Vegas[TM] Pro multitrack media editing system for Windows PCs. Sonic Foundry will also be showing its popular ACID[TM] loop-based music creation tool, as well as other digital audio software products. The IMX show is an ideal display forum for Sonic Foundry because its product line fully addresses the needs of traditional musicians and also features support for the latest Internet-related technologies, such as Microsoft Windows Media Technologies 4.0, RealNetworks RealSystem G2, and MP3.
"Sonic Foundry is very proud to be a sponsor of this important new exposition in the world of interactive music," said Roy Elkins, Sonic Foundry's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "One of our key objectives has always been to promote the synthesis of technology with traditional music, and the IMX show will provide us an excellent forum to demonstrate how our software products can be used effectively by both traditional and interactive musicians."
