Sonic Foundry Appoints Ted J. Lingard Senior Vice President and General Manager — Media Services

Sonic Foundry[R] Inc. (NASDAQ:SOFO), a leading developer of digital media and Internet software products and services, announced today that it has appointed Ted J. Lingard Senior Vice President and General Manager - Media Services.

Mr. Lingard, formerly Vice President of Operations for both the software and Media Services divisions will assume the Media Services General Manager duties previously held by Daniel McLellan, who resigned effective March 30, 2001.

Mr. Lingard brings over twelve years experience in operations, engineering and sales to his new position. Prior to joining Sonic Foundry in September 1999, Mr. Lingard was employed at Advanced Input Devices, a custom electronics manufacturer, in various senior level operations, engineering, and sales management capacities. Mr. Lingard has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a M.B.A. from Gonzaga University.
