Sonic Foundry Introduces ACID[TM] DJ

Sonic Foundry (AMEX: SFO), a leading developer and marketer of digital audio software for the Windows[R] platform, today introduced ACID DJ, an exciting new software program that allows any PC user to create professional-sounding dance music in just minutes.

ACID DJ uniquely provides PC users with access to a library of more than 600 prerecorded, royalty-free sound clips (dance loops), including synthesizers, bass, guitars, drums, and unusual noises. ACID DJ also includes a wide assortment of dance music styles, such as urban, house, techno, industrial, acid jazz, and hip-hop. To create their own unique dance mixes, users select the loops with the click of a mouse; then they can double-click to incorporate them into the song. Then the user simply clicks play to hear the song. With ACID DJ's onboard digital studio, users can mix and match loops to create multiple track recordings. To ensure top quality sound, ACID DJ even synchronizes the tempo and key so they sound absolutely perfect. Users can also easily add their own vocals to their dance mixes by simply plugging a microphone into their PC soundcard.

ACID DJ requires a Pentium 133 microprocessor (For real-time effects a Pentium II processor is recommended.) or Alpha AXP microprocessor, Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0 or later, a Windows-compatible sound card, VGA display, CD-ROM drive, 32MB of RAM, and 5MB of hard-disk space for program installation.

ACID DJ is priced at a suggested retail price of $49.00, with an estimated street price of $39.00. It is now available for purchase by resellers through national computer products distributor Ingram Micro, and by end-users from a wide variety of both computer and music retailers nationwide.
