Sonic Foundry Joins the Riverbed-Ready Technology Alliance Program to Extend Reach and Value of Riverbed Solutions for Hybrid Enterprises
MADISON, Wis. — March 22, 2016 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted global leader for video creation and management solutions, today announced that it has joined the Riverbed®-Ready Technology Alliance program to bring new capabilities to both Sonic Foundry and Riverbed customers, expand the value and impact of Riverbed solutions, and help customers master the video challenges of the hybrid enterprise.
The integration of Mediasite by Sonic Foundry with Riverbed solutions offers advanced technologies and market-leading solutions to accelerate and optimize live and on-demand enterprise video delivery without disrupting existing network traffic. The solution provides customers with a tested, verified, and supported solution for scalable and secure video delivery behind the firewall.
The program framework enables partners to extend the Riverbed Application Performance Platform™, the most complete platform to give CIOs unparalleled visibility to deliver, optimize, and control all IT resources across the hybrid enterprise. Today, hybrid architectures and SaaS applications bring significant benefits to organizations—agility/time to market, cost savings, flexibility—but also challenges, such as the complexity of multiple clouds, networks, service providers, and SLAs, plus end users everywhere, and hundreds of applications (including SaaS apps like Salesforce, Microsoft Azure/Office 365, and Amazon Web Services) that need to be managed and delivered across a mix of networks.
Riverbed-Ready partners will focus in areas such as security, cloud and virtualization, business applications, network performance management, application performance management, networking, and storage. Partners can leverage Riverbed open APIs and additional development tools to help with customization, integration, and automation.
“Joining Riverbed-Ready allows us to address the unique video challenges of the corporate enterprise, by offering an integrated, tested solution for high quality, scalable and secure video delivery behind the firewall,” said Gary Weis, chief executive officer of Sonic Foundry. “Riverbed and Sonic Foundry are able to deliver solutions that help our mutual and prospective customers realize maximum efficiencies in their hybrid enterprise video deployments.”
“Through the Riverbed-Ready program, Riverbed and Sonic Foundry will provide our customers integrated solutions that extend the Riverbed Application Performance Platform,” said Katie Colbert, vice president, global technology alliances at Riverbed. “Together, Riverbed and its partners are providing end-to-end solutions that provide deep visibility, optimization, and control to inspect, direct, and protect workloads across the hybrid enterprise.”
Riverbed Application Performance Platform product families include: Riverbed® SteelHead™ to optimize and control application delivery throughout the hybrid enterprise; Riverbed® SteelCentral™ for end-to-end visibility, analytics, and diagnostics across the hybrid enterprise; and Riverbed® SteelFusion™ to virtualize and consolidate 100% of physical data and servers from remote and branch offices (ROBO) into the data center, enabling backup processes and data protection, provisioning of new services and sites, and fast recovery to central data centers.
