Sonic Foundry Named Nominee for Streaming Media Magazine Readers' Choice Awards

MADISON, Wis. - August 8, 2008 - Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced the company's Mediasite platform is once again a nominee in the Best Webcasting Platform category in the second annual Streaming Media Magazine Readers' Choice Awards.

Streaming Media Magazine established the program to honor the success of streaming technology and services companies that are fueling industry growth. This year the publication identifies 20 categories and invites readers and end users to vote at www.streamingmedia.com/readerschoice. Voting is open until Monday, August 25, and winners will be announced at a reception during Streaming Media West (www.streamingmedia.com/west) in San Jose on September 23.
