Sonic Foundry Releases SIREN Jukebox 1.5

Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the leading developer and marketer of digital media and Internet software tools, services, and systems, today released version 1.5 of its SIREN[TM] Jukebox software that plays, organizes, encodes, and burns music to CDs.

SIREN Jukebox 1.5 includes a new extensive music management engine that allows users to customize the viewing of their music collections by applying filters, groupings, and sorts—functions normally found in advanced database applications. Playlists can now be imported and exported, and song files can be accessed from a hard drive, removable media, or network directory.

New features also include an updated interface including a compact mode that reduces the application into one of many user-selected "skins." The Sonic Foundry Skin Grafters Kit (SGK) allows users to create and share original, customized skins complete with animated graphics for a more exciting interactive experience.

"The advanced database functionality we've added to SIREN Jukebox 1.5 has created one of the most powerful and user-friendly solutions for managing large and varied music collections currently available to the jukebox audience," stated Jeff Conover, vice president of marketing for Sonic Foundry. "We are confident users will be impressed with both the new music management engine and customizable skins."

SIREN Jukebox 1.5 comes complete with the Fraunhofer MP3 encoder, a 16-band equalizer, advanced reverb effects, and the ability to slow down or speed up songs. It plays and encodes both MP3 and Windows Media files and transfers music to popular MP3 portable devices. The software supports Microsoft's Internet Keyboard Pro with Intellitype software and runs under the Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 operating systems.
