Sonic Foundry's Audio Anywhere[TM] Software Suite is Fully Optimized for use with Microsoft Office 2000

Sonic Foundry (Nasdaq: SOFO), a leading developer and marketer of media authoring tools and digital audio software for the Microsoft Windows operating system, announced today that its recently released Audio Anywhere software suite is fully optimized for use with Microsoft Office 2000.

Designed specifically for use as a value-added complement to Microsoft PowerPoint and FrontPage applications, the Audio Anywhere suite uniquely allows Microsoft Office 2000 users to quickly and easily enhance electronic presentations and Web pages with professional-quality sound and musical accompaniment. The powerful Audio Anywhere suite takes full advantage of the advanced media streaming capabilities in Microsoft Office 2000, providing users with the ability to add a broad assortment of sound elements to both Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and Microsoft FrontPage-produced Web pages, and then seamlessly deliver them via the Internet or an intranet.

"The Audio Anywhere suite effectively delivers all aspects of audio production as well as creating royalty-free music beds," said Roy Elkins, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sonic Foundry. "It truly is an ideal companion product to Microsoft Office 2000, as it fully capitalizes on the robust media streaming capabilities inherent within this powerful new business software suite."

"Our goal with Microsoft Office 2000 is to provide customers with the tools to integrate productivity tasks and the Web, to streamline the process of sharing information with others," said John Duncan, Office product manager, Microsoft Corp. "We are excited to see Sonic Foundry capitalize on the technology that Office 2000 offers to provide users of Microsoft PowerPoint and FrontPage with the ability to add even greater value to their presentations and Web pages."

The Audio Anywhere suite pairs Sonic Foundry's ACID[TM] Style audio content creation program with its Sound Forge[R] XP 4.5 audio-editing tool. ACID Style enables the authoring of loop-based, royalty-free compositions in the genres of rock, jazz, pop, and dance. These compositions can be edited, processed, and further enhanced using Sound Forge XP 4.5. Moreover, the Audio Anywhere package includes more than 800 professional-quality sound clips of all varieties, such as music beds, button clicks, sound effects, transitions, tags, and environments, all of which can contribute to the development of significantly more powerful and effective presentations and Web pages.

The Audio Anywhere suite can save files in a variety of formats, including .WAV, .ASF, .AVI, and .RM, making it possible for users to publish to virtually any type of project. Sound Forge XP 4.5 supports Microsoft Windows Media Technologies 4.0, which includes advanced audio compression, enabling these files, as well as video data, to be synchronized and placed into Web pages created by FrontPage.

Audio Anywhere is available direct from the Sonic Foundry Web site or at OfficeMax, Office Depot, and Staples stores nationwide. The MSRP for Audio Anywhere is $99.95.
