Duke University School of Medicine Captures Hundreds of Presentations in Less than Year – RMIA Rapid Deployment Finalist
(Part of an ongoing series featuring Rich Media Impact Awards finalists)
I can’t believe there are only two months left before Unleash 2013! It seems like we were just wrapping up last year’s Mediasite User Conference, but our seventh annual program is just around the corner. This year will be our biggest one yet with hundreds from all over the world in attendance here in Madison, Wis.
By now you may have heard about Bob van den Brand, an adjunct associated professor from Tilburg School of Economics and Management in the Netherlands. He’s using Mediasite in creative ways to get through to his tech-minded students in short 10-minute lectures.
Bob’s been recognized countless times for his fantastic lecture capture program, iSTAR Learning Project, which has dramatically increased the pass rates and satisfaction ratings among the second-year accounting students.
We all do it.
On January 1 we tell ourselves that we’re going to do something to improve our lives. Perhaps this year you’ll resolve to hit the gym more often or eat healthier. Or maybe you’ll want to try something new in your classroom when the semester starts.
But for most of us, regardless of what our resolutions are, the craziness of our daily lives gets in the way. We don’t have enough hours in the day to hit the gym, or we just don’t have the willpower to pass up that chocolate in the break room.
"The question was: 'How do we create on-demand training modules to train our call agents?' The solution was simple. Mediasite. Mediasite allows us to create easy to follow training modules as well as provide employees with the option for retraining online." ~ Mona Aldana-Ramirez, Director of Retention Support Services, San Antonio College
"As a faculty member, I think that we can make recorded video really fit with today’s pedagogy. We are moving away from the sage on the stage to becoming the guide on the side. We’re encouraged to use multiple learning styles, interactive assignments, collaboration tools. We can marry those things with recorded video for some areas. We’re very reliant on this wonderful product, Mediasite." ~ Marsha Orr, California State University, Fullerton
