The first day of the UNLEASH Mediasite User Conference has been a busy one.
Today we met with the Mediasite User Group Steering Committee in the morning, completed the Mediasite Pre-Conference Training Workshops, gave tours of Sonic Foundry's offices and in just a few minutes we'll host an opening reception at Francesca's.
Creating a successful hybrid event doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't happen in a vacuum. Victoria Fanning, a face-to-face meeting planner for over a decade, and now the Director of Hybrid and Online Meetings at EDUCAUSE, should know. She plans five major blended conferences, two multi-day online events, and numerous online seminars and webinars every year, with just about every possible combination of synchronous and asynchronous options offered.
Last year, I learned how the words quick, light, and easy could change how I approach running (thanks to Christopher McDougall and his book, Born to Run). On a run last week, I was focusing on those three words when it struck me – these same three words could change how event planners, meeting planners and conference organizers integrate online audiences with live events.
