Incredible! It was only 12 short months ago that I wrote a similar post for UNLEASH 2011. And here we are, fresh off the new year and kicking off our sixth annual Mediasite User Conference to be held May 7-9 in Madison, Wisconsin. This year we’re Unleashing the Edge at the best networking and learning venue for Mediasite enthusiasts around the globe.

It’s individuals like you that make it all possible – readily sharing best practices, how-to’s and practical advice gleaned from your successful Mediasite implementations for lecture capture, enterprise webcasting and event webcasting.

Our call for speakers is now open, and I invite you to submit a speaking proposal (or two). But don’t delay. The deadline for submissions is February 3.

UNLEASH attendees have told us the sessions they value most are those which provide concrete examples of how to take their Mediasite implementation – whether basic or advanced, large or small – to the next level. They want to learn from others that have been there. They want the edge that your expertise and lessons learned can provide. Our ultimate goal is to ensure every attendee leaves UNLEASH with a collection of proven processes, step-by-steps and real-life examples that can be applied in their own organizations. Learn more about the specific session topics we’d like to feature at UNLEASH 2012.

Remember Pecha Kucha, the new presentation format that debuted at UNLEASH 2011? It’s back this year by popular demand! (Who can forget last year’s percussion-based Pecha Kucha by Sonic Foundry’s on-staff drummer, John Pollard.) This unique presentation format – with or without drums – lets speakers convey their most important ideas in succinct 7-minute bursts. Make a resolution this year to give it a try.

The best part of being an UNLEASH speaker? One complimentary conference registration is provided for each accepted track session ($795 value), or a $300 discount is provided for each Pecha Kucha participant. Pick the format that best suits your presentation style and Mediasite experience and submit your proposal today. For more inspiration, check out catalogs of select 2011and 2010 presentations.

If speaking is not your thing, contribute to UNLEASH 2012 by letting us know what you want to learn or take away from this year’s conference. Share your input online in the UNLEASH discussion group of the Mediasite User Group Community. (Not a MUG member yet? Join here.)
