Welcome Reception

Bellini Italian Restaurant, 401 East Washington Avenue (just off the Capitol Square, 5 blocks from the Monona Terrace and Hilton Hotel; shuttle service is available)

Join your Mediasite peers and the Sonic Foundry crew for the opening reception. It’s the perfect way to cap your travel or workshop day and mingle with other conference attendees in an informal setting. Experience the unique atmosphere of Bellini, housed in a landmark church built in 1897. Enjoy authentic Italian and Sicilian hors d'oeuvres and refreshing drinks amidst one of Madison’s most beautiful restaurants with high vaulted ceilings, multiple levels and original stained glass windows.

A Real Wisconsin Night Out

The Friday Night Fish Fry. It’s a Wisconsin tradition and a regional delicacy, with more than 1,000 eateries holding a weekly fish fry. And the best fish fry in Madison? Well, on a typical Friday, you’ll find more than an hour wait at the Avenue Bar, a Madison dining institution voted Best Fish Fry for decades. But fear not: we’ve booked the whole joint so you won’t have to wait for Friday, your fish or your locally brewed beer, spicy Bloody Mary and sweet Old Fashioned cocktail.

Built in the 1950s with the Badger and Packer memorabilia to prove it, the Avenue Bar is a traditional neighborhood supper club loaded with character and old-school Wisconsin hospitality.
