Why Madison?
Sonic Foundry was founded in Madison in 1991 by University of Wisconsin graduate and Wisconsin native Monty Schmidt.
Built on an isthmus between lakes Monona and Mendota, Madison is renowned for its beautiful scenery and vibrant downtown, where the University of Wisconsin’s flagship campus meets the Wisconsin State Capitol. Madison is located just one hour from Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin, the home of Frank Lloyd Wright. The ideas, concepts, theories and techniques applied to every structure that bears Frank Lloyd Wright’s imprint had their genesis here. Weekend tours are available.
Hotel
The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace is located in the heart of downtown Madison, overlooking shimmering Lake Monona with direct access to the Monona Terrace via an enclosed climate controlled skywalk. The hotel boasts spectacular views of the city and lakes, and is located only two blocks from the Wisconsin State Capitol and in close proximity to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Overture Theater District, State Street and many downtown Madison upscale restaurants and clubs.
The hotel restaurant serves lunch and dinner and features a fully stocked bar which opens at 4 p.m. featuring live music six days a week. Room cancellation
A deposit of the first night’s room plus tax (deposit) is required with all reservations. The deposit will be forfeited for all no-shows and for all reservations canceled within 48 hours prior to arrival.

Airport Shuttle
The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace hotel offers complimentary airport shuttle service 7 days a week from 6:30 am – 10:00 pm to and from Wisconsin's Dane County Regional airport. The van can accommodate 10 people with luggage. Departing guests should sign up for the shuttle in advance to be sure to arrive at the airport on time for their flights.
