  • Configure a Mediasite HD recorder
  • Choose local recording settings appropriate to the environment and the content being recording
  • Explain the different encoding methods available and for what each is best suited (smooth streaming, WMV, MP4)
  • Troubleshoot common problems

Hands-on exercises will be used to explain and demonstrate:

  • Use of HD-SDI sources
  • Bandwidth and network requirements for Smooth Streaming
  • Workflow for live and on-demand
  • Advanced recorder features such as capture settings, sensitivity, and adaptive capture modes
  • Encoding setting basics and selection, and how encoding settings are used in Mediasite templates
  • Troubleshooting common problems and solutions

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Create and customize presentation templates using existing server assets
  • Record a live presentation using Smooth Streaming and Windows Media
  • Efficiently navigate, find, modify and move presentation assets in the Mediasite Management Portal

  • Effectively use Mediasite Search to locate appropriate content
  • Edit Mediasite content
  • Import .wmv and H.264 content into Mediasite automatically

  • Modify/transcode content that already exists on a Mediasite EX Server

  • General report types – What’s Being Watched; Presentation Statistics; Presenter Statistics; User Statistics; Authoring Statistics
  • New report creation targeting different audiences – use of filters to restrict report breadth; report customization; saving reports; automatically distributing reports
  • Private and public report creation
  • Exporting reporting data
  • Creating and modifying encoding settings and content servers
  • Transcoding existing content

 

Planning Your Mediasite 6 Upgrade | 60 mins | earn .5 RU toward CTS

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the requirements of each component of a successful, fully featured Mediasite EX Server 6 deployment
