  • Unleash Your Organization in the Age of Video
We live in an era where video is being live-streamed, recorded and is rapidly becoming our primary source for learning something new. Leading corporations and education institutions have amazing opportunities to harness the power of video to advance their message, improve collaboration, expand business opportunities and educate the masses.

Maudsley Learning will use Mediasite via University of London Computer Centre to live stream and create on-demand video content of educational events, seminars and teaching. This will enable us to deliver Maudsley Learning’s strategic vision to provide learning on issues relating to mental health and wellbeing to anyone, anytime and anywhere.

To us, (Mediasite is) a classroom environment capture system. We're using (Mediasite) to reach our students with a better approach, to have full online graphics and video at the same time that students can select from. Our biggest Mediasite accomplishment was implementing it across the campus.

Sandia National Laboratories employs nearly 9,000 scientists, engineers, biologists and support staff, who work on projects related to the nation’s most challenging security issues. Over the years, they’ve amassed thousands of hours of video-based technical documentation, training and research. The content – much of which was created on outdated devices and exists in all sorts of formats – needs to be preserved for up to 75 years and meet the National Archives and Records Administration standards.

Sandia needs to keep content for up to 75 years and meet National Archives and Records Administration standards. Using Mediasite as a video content management platform is a big deal for us. We need to know where the information is and how to get it back. The user generated content capabilities in My Mediasite will give us the ability to be more flexible with video creation. My Mediasite will allow us to take in more content and make more content available.

We sought a way to digitally expand the classroom by allowing students to learn in their homes. We also wanted to reach out to ‘would be’ students who are work-at-home moms or individuals in the workforce who needed to learn at their leisure. It is an extremely useful product and Sonic Foundry’s tech support is among the best in terms of responsiveness and product knowledge.

I’ve been using Mediasite for two years to deliver live and on-demand conferences and courses to the science community at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and the public. This has been a great success for our institution. Thanks to the constant improvement of Mediasite (version 6.1 is a must) and the great support from the Sonic Foundry team we are managing to bring the future of science to the rest of the world. We’re even able to stream on mobile devices with Mediasite, making life easier for all.

The uptick of academic video in Norway is enormous now that schools have access to Mediasite content right at their fingertips. Mediasite checks off every box and is the best lecture capture system there is. It increases the quality of teaching and communicating. Students get to learn in a more personalized way, and they really appreciate that lecture recordings are available for review on-demand.

  • Embracing the Opportunities of BYOD in Enterprise AV Design
Just when you’ve got your AV plan nailed down for the boardrooms, meeting rooms and training rooms, there’s a new trend taking hold to supplement the work your employees do – a dramatic shift toward BYOD (bring your own device) and consumerization. While employees have been using personal devices in the office since the first calculator, they’ve never been as functional, collaborative, personal or ubiquitous as they are now. And workers have never been more tech-savvy.

We chose the Mediasite hosting model because it scales quickly. It takes time, budget, hardware and planning to build an infrastructure. Mediasite has already done that work, and there are case studies proving that it's working efficiently. It's out of sight, out of mind; it's just working. For live events in particular, it provides a piece of mind to know our Mediasite server is out there and running.
