From early pilot demonstrations to multi-million dollar fund raising, from classroom captures to international collaborations, Jim Jorstad, Director of Educational Technologies, will show you how innovative webcasting applications helped to redraw the traditional big picture communication efforts at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. In the span of a year, UW-La Crosse’s strategic deployment of Mediasite evolved into an effective outreach program that created important connections with new and untapped audiences—both within the community and on a global level.
Jim Goodlander, Associate Director of Technology, will walk you through a typical day of academic, training and event webcasting at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, one US News & World Report’s top 25 public undergraduate business schools. A leader in streaming classroom video since early 2000, the College webcasting program has grown from Managerial MBA programs with online components to conferences, guest speakers and special events that now attract a global audience.

The Viticulture and Enology Science and Technology Alliance (VESTA) is a partnership of educational institutions, state agricultural agencies and industry that provides grape and wine education in Middle America. After experimenting with classroom technologies that resulted in frustrated students and staff, VESTA applied for and received a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to purchase the Mediasite webcasting platform.
