Thinking Outside the Box: Using Mediasite to Engage Faculty and Extend University Outreach
From early pilot demonstrations to multi-million dollar fund raising, from classroom captures to international collaborations, Jim Jorstad, Director of Educational Technologies, will show you how innovative webcasting applications helped to redraw the traditional big picture communication efforts at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. In the span of a year, UW-La Crosse’s strategic deployment of Mediasite evolved into an effective outreach program that created important connections with new and untapped audiences—both within the community and on a global level. The University’s use of Mediasite continues to expand through knowledge-sharing across campus, including lecture capture, workshops, campus events, foundation development and promotion.
The presentation will include:
- An overview of how Mediasite helped in a multi-million dollar fund drive, how it is used in education, professional development, training, and campus events.
- Successful strategies for getting faculty onboard with webcasting, including promoting early adopters who can act as change-agents within the University.
- Real-life examples of how utilizing the power of “Edu-tainment” in targeted alumni outreach impacts the bottom line of campus campaigns.
